Meta Announces Camera-Free Ray-Ban Meta Audio and Next-Gen Smart Glasses

At its Connect event, Meta unveiled the camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio smart glasses starting at $349, alongside the Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 glasses priced at $449, and integrated its new Muse personal AI agent across the lineup. The lightweight 43g audio-only model offers 12 hours of battery life and hands-free access to Meta AI features. Introducing a camera-free model addresses ongoing privacy concerns while offering a lower entry price and longer battery life for audio-focused users. It highlights Meta's broader strategy to drive wearable AI adoption through diverse price points, form factors, and high-profile fashion partnerships. The Ray-Ban Meta Audio supports up to 12 hours of playback per charge (with 48 additional hours from the charging case), while the Gen 3 camera model features 3K Ultra HD video recording, a 6-microphone noise-reduction array, and up to 9 hours of battery life. Meta is also launching special celebrity editions, including a collaboration with K-pop star Lisa, and expanding sales into global markets like Singapore, South Korea, and Mexico.
