Lucid and Bolt Partner to Deploy 25,000 Autonomous Robotaxis in Europe
US EV maker Lucid Motors and European ride-hailing company Bolt have announced a strategic partnership to deploy at least 25,000 SAE Level 4 autonomous Robotaxis across multiple European cities. The vehicle fleet will be built on Lucid's upcoming mid-size vehicle platform and powered by NVIDIA's Hyperion architecture. This partnership represents one of the largest commercial deployments of Level 4 autonomous fleets announced in Europe. It also highlights NVIDIA's key role in providing underlying hardware platforms and reference architectures to traditional EV makers and mobility operators. Bolt plans to own and operate the Lucid Robotaxi fleet while building out the necessary fleet infrastructure, operating systems, and city-level partnerships. Bolt will also help define vehicle requirements, safety parameters, and passenger experience software.
## BACKGROUND
SAE Level 4 autonomous driving represents high driving automation where the vehicle handles all driving tasks within specific geographic or operational boundaries without human intervention. NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion is a scalable end-to-end computing platform and reference architecture that enables automakers to integrate AI workloads and sensor suites for autonomous driving.
