Lenovo Kaitian Launches First Domestic AI Desktop with Zhaoxin and Houmo

Lenovo Kaitian announced its first localized AI desktop powered by the Zhaoxin KX-7000 processor and Houmo LQ50 NPU, delivering up to 160TOPS of local AI compute. The system comes pre-installed with the Kylin operating system and the Tianxi AI Pro agent to support 35B-scale large language models. This release highlights the continued momentum of China's localized IT ecosystem, known as Xinchuang, by integrating domestic silicon to run sophisticated AI workloads locally. It provides enterprise users with a secure, native hardware stack capable of supporting autonomous digital assistants without relying on foreign technology. The configuration features an eight-core Zhaoxin KX-7000 CPU and a Houmo LQ50 NPU with 24GB of dedicated memory and 153.6GB/s memory bandwidth. The desktop employs an independent thermal design for the CPU and NPU, keeping full-load temperatures around 41°C at 25°C ambient while remaining acoustically quiet.

## BACKGROUND

Xinchuang represents China's strategic initiative to develop indigenous information technology, replacing foreign components with domestic alternatives across hardware and software. Zhaoxin develops x86-compatible processors like the KX-7000 using advanced chiplet architectures, while Houmo Intelligent specializes in processing-in-memory (PIM) AI acceleration chips designed for efficient edge inference.
