Jiuguang Technology Unveils Xiaorui G3 Humanoid Robot Capable of Lifting 50 kg
Hong Kong-based Jiuguang Technology has officially unveiled its third-generation humanoid robot, Xiaorui G3, designed to assist humans with heavy-lifting tasks. During the launch event, the robot demonstrated its ability to respond to voice commands and carry a 50 kg barbell. This release highlights the ongoing hardware advancements in the humanoid robotics sector, specifically targeting physical labor and heavy-lifting assistance. However, it enters a highly competitive and crowded market where many companies are racing to commercialize embodied AI. Xiaorui G3 stands 173 cm tall and weighs under 60 kg, matching the physical proportions of an average adult. It is capable of pulling loads exceeding 100 kg and lifting weights up to 50 kg.
## BACKGROUND
Embodied AI refers to artificial intelligence systems that are integrated into physical bodies, allowing them to perceive, interact with, and navigate the physical world. Humanoid robots are a primary application of this technology, designed to mimic human form and movement to operate in environments built for humans. Jiuguang Technology, founded in Hong Kong, established its robotics subsidiary in 2023 to focus on AI robot development and vertical industry applications.
