JD.com Announces Massive Five-Year Procurement Plan for 4.1 Million Robots and Drones

JD.com announced a massive five-year procurement plan to acquire 3 million robots, 1 million unmanned vehicles, and 100,000 drones to scale its supply chain operations. Additionally, the company launched its Physical AI Acceleration Plan and aims to collect over 10 million hours of high-quality human scenario video data within two years. This monumental hardware commitment bridges the gap between digital AI and physical logistics, marking a major milestone for the commercial deployment of embodied AI. By integrating robotics deeply into over 3,000 scenarios, JD.com is setting a new benchmark for automation and efficiency in global supply chains. As part of its strategy, Agibot's embodied robots have already entered JD Logistics' 'Zhilang' warehouse to test product boundaries and reliability in real-world operations. JD also plans to gather over 1 million hours of robot body operation data across more than 100 fine-grained production and service scenarios.

## BACKGROUND

Embodied AI refers to intelligent systems, such as humanoid robots or autonomous vehicles, that possess physical bodies and can interact dynamically with the real world. Zhilang warehouse is JD Logistics' highly automated 'goods-to-person' intelligent storage system designed to drastically reduce warehouse labor and walking distances.
