JD.com Announces 10 Billion RMB Robotics Strategy at WRC 2026
At the World Robot Conference 2026, JD.com announced a major robotics strategy, pledging to invest over 10 billion RMB by 2028 to help 100 robot brands surpass 1 billion RMB in sales. The plan includes building 80 "RoboBase" centers, expanding global after-sales services, and collecting 10 million hours of real-world data for AI models. This massive investment signals JD.com's push to dominate the commercialization and infrastructure of the robotics industry, bridging the gap between hardware manufacturers and real-world logistics and retail applications. It also accelerates the deployment of embodied AI by providing standardized hardware components and massive datasets. JD.com is integrating its "JoyInside" embodied AI brand to connect over 10 million terminal devices, while also introducing standardized battery products to unify dimensions, communication protocols, and safety standards across different robot brands.
## BACKGROUND
JD.com previously launched its embodied AI brand, JoyInside, at the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference to power robots with large language models. Additionally, the company broke ground on its first "RoboBase" project in Guangzhou in July 2026, aiming to create integrated R&D, manufacturing, and service hubs for the robotics ecosystem.
