International NearLink Alliance Releases NearLink 3.0 Standard
The International NearLink Alliance released the NearLink 3.0 standard and evolution blueprint at the CEIC2026 summit, focusing on AI, passive IoT, and millimeter-wave technologies. Three standards, including lossless audio, have already been officially published since development started in August 2025. This release marks a major technical milestone for China's proprietary short-range wireless communication ecosystem as it expands from foundational architecture to full-scenario intelligent IoT. Upgrades to NearLink SLE 3.0 will enhance data rates, coverage, and anti-interference capabilities across diverse industrial and consumer applications. The NearLink SLE 3.0 technical standards evolution blueprint was co-authored by over 60 industry, academic, and research organizations. Additionally, the series of 'NearLink Wireless Communication System' national standards was recently approved and is scheduled for official implementation on April 1, 2027.
## BACKGROUND
NearLink (SparkLink) is a next-generation short-range wireless communication technology jointly developed by global participants under Chinese leadership to bridge performance gaps left by traditional technologies like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It supports multiple working modes, including SLE (Starlink Low Energy) and SLB, providing low power consumption, high data rates, and precise positioning.
