Inaugural National Youth AI Competition Finals Begin in Shanghai

The finals of the first National Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition commenced in Shanghai on August 1, featuring over 850 finalists selected from 46,000 participants across China. The competition features five cutting-edge tracks, including embodied AI, large language models, and AI for Science. This event highlights China's strategic push to integrate advanced AI concepts into early education, preparing the next generation for a technology-driven economy. By including tracks like embodied AI and AI for Science, the competition aligns youth education with current industry and research frontiers. The three-day event is officially approved by the Ministry of Education for the 2025–2028 academic years and includes collaborative workshops for educators and industry experts to explore early AI education. It also emphasizes educational equity by inviting over 60 students from underdeveloped regions to observe the finals and participate in study tours.
