iFlytek Reports H1 2026 Results: Revenue Up 6.5%, Net Loss Narrows to 204M RMB
Chinese AI giant iFlytek released its financial report for the first half of 2026, reporting a total revenue of 11.623 billion RMB (up 6.52% YoY) and a narrowed net loss of 204 million RMB. However, its non-GAAP net loss expanded by 74.88% to 637 million RMB, primarily driven by increased R&D spending. The report highlights the financial challenges faced by major AI companies as they transition from traditional project-based government business to consumer-facing AI hardware and large language models. The massive R&D investment (over 25% of revenue) reflects the intense competition and high capital requirements in the Chinese AI sector. iFlytek invested over 3 billion RMB in R&D during H1 2026, representing a year-on-year increase of 600 million RMB. Additionally, the company completed a private placement raising 3.981 billion RMB, which will be used to fund its Spark Education Large Model, computing platforms, and general working capital.
