iBUYPOWER Launches $3,999 Pro AMD AI Halo 2.8L Mini Workstation PC
System integrator iBUYPOWER has launched the Pro AMD AI Halo, a compact 2.8-liter mini workstation PC priced at $3,999. Powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor, the system comes equipped with 128GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory and dual 10GbE Ethernet ports. The launch highlights how AMD's Strix Halo APU platform enables high-density local AI workstations capable of running large language models without requiring a bulky discrete GPU. Packing 128GB of unified memory into a tiny 2.8L chassis provides developers with a portable inference and development machine. Measuring 70×198×200 mm, the system features multiple M.2 PCIe slots, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, two USB-C 40Gbps ports, and dual 10GbE RJ-45 connectivity. It leverages the 128GB unified LPDDR5X memory limits of the Strix Halo architecture and will be available in limited quantities this quarter.
## BACKGROUND
AMD's Strix Halo architecture, marketed under the Ryzen AI Max lineup, integrates high-performance Zen CPU cores with powerful RDNA 3.5 graphics on a single chip die. Its unified memory architecture allows the graphics engine and CPU to share up to 128GB of high-speed memory directly. This design makes it particularly suitable for local AI model inference and developer workflows that typically require expensive professional graphics cards.
