Huawei Unveils Xiaoyi AI Agent for HarmonyOS PCs with 2,300+ Skills
Huawei has announced a major update to its Xiaoyi AI agent for HarmonyOS PCs, introducing a multi-agent collaborative architecture with over 2,300 skills across four categories. The update, which includes an on-device WebAgent, is scheduled to roll out via an OTA update in September. This release highlights the growing industry trend of integrating OS-level AI agents directly into personal computers to automate complex, multi-step workflows. By running WebAgents locally on the edge, it enhances user privacy and reduces latency while performing tasks like browser control and file parsing. The new Xiaoyi tasks support autonomous planning, table generation, local search, and desktop file parsing. Huawei claims that the success rate of its on-device WebAgent in executing web-based tasks is on par with human performance.
