Huawei Qiankun ADS Pro V5.0 to Support Campus Navigation Cruise Assist (NCA)
Huawei has announced that its Qiankun ADS Pro V5.0 autonomous driving system will support campus Navigation Cruise Assist (NCA). This feature allows vehicles to automatically navigate from a campus entrance directly to a designated parking space, covering over 1 million parking lots across office buildings, shopping malls, hospitals, and residential areas. This update expands autonomous driving capabilities into complex, low-speed "last-mile" scenarios like parking lots and campuses, bringing users closer to a seamless door-to-door automated driving experience. It demonstrates the incremental progress of end-to-end autonomous driving systems in handling highly localized and crowded environments. The system is powered by the WEWA 2.0 AI agent architecture, which utilizes cloud-based Multi-Agent game theory and online reinforcement learning alongside vehicle-side safety risk field technology for real-time safety assessments. Additionally, Huawei confirmed that upgrading from ADS 4 to ADS 5 requires no hardware modifications.
## BACKGROUND
Navigation Cruise Assist (NCA) is an advanced driving assistance system that helps vehicles navigate routes, change lanes, and handle traffic lights without relying heavily on high-definition maps. The WEWA architecture, developed by Huawei, splits processing between a cloud-based world engine and a vehicle-side behavior model to optimize driving strategies and safety.
