Huawei HarmonyOS 7 Surpasses 5 Million Upgrades in 24 Hours
Huawei announced that its newly released HarmonyOS 7 operating system reached over 5 million upgraded terminal devices within 24 hours of its public release. The update introduces the new Harmony Intelligence AI architecture alongside comprehensive upgrades in UI aesthetics, system security, and performance. The rapid adoption highlights strong user demand within Huawei's software ecosystem as total HarmonyOS 6 and 7 devices reach 85 million, targeting 100 million by Q4. It also reflects an industry-wide trend of embedding deep, proactive AI agents directly into system-level mobile software. HarmonyOS 7 upgrades the Xiaoyi system agent to invoke over 2,100 system capabilities and 500 ecosystem skills, while integrating an AI-driven Star Shield security architecture for proactive anti-fraud protection. For performance, its dedicated performance mode can keep up to 16 applications active in the background without being closed by the system.
