Houmo.ai and GKED Launch FN008 Chinese AI Laptop with 160 TOPS dNPU

Houmo.ai and GKED have launched the FN008 laptop, featuring an ARM-based Phytium D3000M CPU alongside a Houmo Manjie M50 discrete NPU. Running on KylinOS with a national security-grade TPM chip, the fully domestic Chinese hardware stack can run up to 35-billion-parameter AI models locally. This product highlights China's effort to achieve a completely localized computing ecosystem for edge AI without reliance on foreign silicon. It demonstrates that high-capacity local inference for models like DeepSeek and Qwen can be delivered within a 10W laptop envelope. The Houmo Manjie M50 dNPU achieves 160 TOPS of INT8 and 100 TFLOPS of bFP16 compute power with 24GB of memory at a typical power consumption of just 10W. It supports popular AI models including DeepSeek, ChatGLM, Qwen, LLaMA, and Stable Diffusion for tasks such as AI Q&A and meeting assistance.

## BACKGROUND

Phytium is a major Chinese semiconductor manufacturer that designs ARM-based processors tailored for domestic government and enterprise systems. Houmo AI focuses on compute-in-memory (CIM) architecture, which integrates storage and processing to significantly reduce memory access latency and power consumption during AI workloads.
