Horizon Robotics Releases HSD V2.1 with Mass-Production End-to-End Reverse Driving
Horizon Robotics officially launched version 2.1 of its Horizon SuperDrive (HSD) driver-assist system, introducing China's first mass-produced end-to-end full-scenario reverse driving feature. The update will roll out over-the-air to iCAR V27 vehicle owners starting October 8. Expanding end-to-end neural network architectures into reverse driving scenarios represents an important progression for commercial autonomous driving systems. This demonstrates how Chinese ADAS developers are moving away from traditional rule-based modular stacks toward unified AI models for low-speed and parking maneuvers. HSD V2.1 introduces a Beta full-scenario reverse feature, remote parking via physical keys or custom spot selection, and improved trajectory planning for complex intersections and blind-spot pedestrians. Additionally, users unlock a new block-style HMI dashboard theme after driving 100 kilometers using HSD V2.1.
## BACKGROUND
Horizon Robotics is a Chinese artificial intelligence chip and smart driving technology company that develops hardware and software solutions for automated vehicles, including the Horizon SuperDrive (HSD) system. End-to-end autonomous driving directly maps raw sensor inputs to motion planning trajectories using deep neural networks, replacing traditional modular pipelines that treat perception, prediction, and planning separately.
