Honor AI FreeGrip Documentation Hints at Future Foldable Support

Honor's developer documentation for its AI FreeGrip feature has revealed plans to extend grip-sensing interactions to foldable devices and other irregular screen form factors. Currently, the grip-sensing events are restricted to standard candybar phones in portrait orientation. This update prepares the software ecosystem for Honor's upcoming foldable and irregular screen devices, allowing developers to dynamically optimize UI layouts based on user grip. It enhances usability by adapting interface elements for one-handed, two-handed, or tabletop usage scenarios. AI FreeGrip provides third-party applications with low-latency and low-false-touch grip state recognition to dynamically adjust UI elements. Features like AI FreeGrip are already supported on various Honor Magic series devices running MagicOS 11, with more models scheduled for updates.
