Hesai Launches Kosmo One: World's First 8K Ultra-HD AI Spatial Camera

Hesai Technology has released the Kosmo One, hailed as the world's first 8K ultra-HD AI spatial camera designed to streamline 3D spatial reconstruction. The device features a 1-inch CMOS sensor, offers 360-degree coverage, and can reconstruct a 100-square-meter real-world space in just 15 minutes. This hardware advancement significantly lowers the barrier and time required for high-quality 3D modeling, making spatial data collection as simple as taking a photo. It opens up new possibilities for physical AI training, robotics data generation, digital arts, and immersive mapping partnerships like the one with Amap. Alongside the camera, Hesai introduced Kosmo World, an AI-powered cloud platform for end-to-end 3D content creation and management. Furthermore, the company has partnered with Amap to launch an initial pilot program covering the first thousand commercial sites for high-precision 3D indoor mapping.

## BACKGROUND

Spatial computing utilizes sensors and computer vision to bridge the physical world with digital environments, allowing devices to understand rooms, streets, and objects in 3D. CMOS image sensors capture light and convert it into electrical signals, serving as a core component for modern digital cameras and imaging systems.
