Global Top 10 Fabless Chip Revenues Surged 73% YoY in Q2 2026
According to TrendForce data, combined revenue for the global top 10 fabless IC design companies reached $141.455 billion in Q2 2026, a 73% year-over-year and 17% quarter-over-quarter increase. Broadcom posted the highest growth rates among top peers, while AMD surpassed Qualcomm to rank third behind dominant market leader Nvidia. The financial surge underscores how artificial intelligence hardware demand continues to drive semiconductor market growth, reordering industry rankings in favor of AI computing and interconnect vendors. Companies tailored to AI data centers are outpacing vendors heavily reliant on weakening smartphone markets. Broadcom's revenue rose 112% YoY to $18.896 billion driven by its custom XPU and interconnect businesses, whereas Nvidia generated $91.159 billion with a 99% YoY increase. Additionally, custom ASIC provider Marvell and power solution provider MPS expanded revenues by 34% and 48% YoY, respectively.
## BACKGROUND
Fabless semiconductor companies focus exclusively on chip microarchitecture design and software development, outsourcing physical silicon wafer fabrication to specialized foundries. Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs) are customized chips built for targeted workloads like AI model inference or training, providing better efficiency and cost performance than general-purpose hardware.
