Geekbench Leaks Reveal OpenAI Dot Agent Virtual Machine Specifications

Benchmark listings on Geekbench have exposed the cloud virtual machine configuration for OpenAI's new "Dot" always-on AI agent, revealing instances powered by 9-core AMD EPYC 9V74 processors. The benchmarks show a single-core score of 1,667 and a multi-core score of 9,435, running on Linux with 9.73 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. The leak provides a rare look into the cloud infrastructure powering OpenAI's latest proactive AI agents, showing significantly higher compute allocations (9 CPU cores vs 2 vCPUs) compared to competitors like Meta's Muse. Dedicated sandboxed environments ensure user credentials remain isolated while enabling autonomous execution of complex desktop software tasks. Each Dot VM runs Ubuntu 24.04.3 (or Debian) and comes pre-installed with desktop applications including Blender, GIMP, FreeCAD, and Godot, driven by the GPT-6 Astra model. However, storage is limited to 32 GB, which is lower than Meta Muse's 100 GB offering.

## BACKGROUND

Announced at OpenAI DevDay 2026, "Dots" are always-on, proactive AI agents powered by the GPT-6 Astra model designed to handle autonomous workflows on behalf of users. To safely interact with desktop software and external applications, AI agents typically operate inside secure virtual machines (VMs) isolated from the rest of the host network.
