FieldAI Reportedly Raising $700 Million at $10 Billion Valuation for Universal Robot Brain
Robotics startup FieldAI has signed a term sheet to raise $700 million in a new funding round, boosting its valuation to $10 billion—a fivefold increase in just over a year. The capital will accelerate the development of its universal AI software designed to control various robotic form factors across complex, unstructured real-world environments. The deal highlights intense investor enthusiasm and surging capital flow into embodied AI, where models operate physical hardware safely in real-world scenarios. With competitors like Skild AI and Physical Intelligence also commanding multi-billion-dollar valuations, the race to build generalized robotic brains for construction, defense, and industrial logistics is accelerating rapidly. FieldAI's software targets multiple form factors—including humanoids, quadrupedal robot dogs, drones, and industrial vehicles—and has reportedly accumulated over $135 million in total orders and revenue across more than 30 commercial clients. Founded in 2023 by CEO Ali Agha, the Irvine-based startup has recruited key talent from Google DeepMind, Tesla, NVIDIA, and Boston Dynamics.
## BACKGROUND
Embodied AI refers to artificial intelligence systems that possess physical bodies and interact directly with real-world environments. Traditional robotics relies heavily on hard-coded logic for controlled, repetitive tasks, whereas universal foundation models aim to allow machines to adapt dynamically to dynamic conditions without manual reprogramming.
