FAW Hongqi Launches New HS5 SUV with Doubao AI and Sinan Smart Driving
FAW Hongqi has officially launched the new HS5 SUV in China, starting at a promotional price of 134,800 RMB. The vehicle features the Lingxi Smart Cabin 5.0 powered by a Qualcomm 8155P chip and integrated with ByteDance's Doubao AI voice model, alongside the Hongqi Sinan smart driving system. The integration of ByteDance's Doubao AI model and advanced driver assistance systems into a mid-range SUV highlights the accelerating trend of embedding generative AI and smart driving capabilities into mainstream consumer vehicles. This move enhances the competitive edge of traditional Chinese automotive brands against tech-focused EV rivals. The HS5 is equipped with a 2.0T high-power aluminum engine paired with an Aisin 8AT gearbox, achieving 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. Its smart driving suite supports advanced parking assistance and highway navigation pilot functions, while the cabin features a 15.6-inch 2.5K display and a 30-inch AR-HUD.

Hongqi is a premium automotive brand owned by the Chinese automaker FAW Group.
