Ecarx and Arm Sign MOU to Develop Next-Gen AI Computing Platforms

Ecarx and Arm have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding to jointly develop next-generation high-performance AI computing platforms for automotive and cross-industry applications. The collaboration focuses on system-level joint engineering, including architecture definition, performance tuning, and software adaptation. This partnership strengthens Ecarx's computing capabilities by leveraging Arm's core technologies to power complex physical AI workloads in smart vehicles and other edge AI devices. It bridges traditional automotive systems with broader cross-industry AI applications. The collaboration involves system-level architecture definition, functional safety, and cybersecurity validation tailored for both Chinese and global markets. It builds upon previous successful cooperation through Siengine, whose 7nm 'Long鹰-1' (Dragonhawk I) chip has surpassed one million shipments, while a 5nm 'Long鹰-2' (Dragonhawk II) chip is currently in development.

## BACKGROUND

Ecarx is a global mobility tech company providing automotive-grade computing platforms, while Arm provides foundational CPU architecture and IP widely used in mobile and automotive chips. Siengine is an automotive chip company backed by Geely that previously partnered with these entities to mass-produce advanced smart cockpit SoCs.
