Dyson Sub-Brand Opens Pre-Orders in China for CameraJet AI Smart Toothbrush
Dyson's sub-brand has opened pre-orders in China for CameraJet, a high-end smart electric toothbrush priced at 3,899 RMB, scheduled for release on September 6. The device features an integrated 100,000-pixel camera that uses AI algorithms to analyze oral imagery at 28 frames per second to detect gaps between teeth and automatically spray mouthwash. This launch highlights how consumer electronics makers are applying computer vision and computer-guided targeted mechanisms to luxury personal hygiene devices. It reflects an evolving trend of integrating micro-sensors and real-time visual analytics into everyday home health hardware. The CameraJet features a motor providing up to 58,000 sonic vibrations per minute, a 21-degree conical spray nozzle, and a transparent fluid capsule. It also incorporates an RFID module to monitor brush head usage and trigger replacement notifications through a connected mobile app.
## BACKGROUND
Smart electric toothbrushes traditionally rely on accelerometers and Bluetooth connectivity to track brushing routines and coverage zones. By introducing onboard optical cameras and computer vision, devices can now visually inspect oral topology to automate functions like targeted flossing or mouthwash delivery.
