DeepSeek Harness 0.2 Released with Modular Bundles, Async Questions, and Desktop Apps

DeepSeek Harness 0.2 has been released, introducing an optional bundle architecture, experimental Async Question Mode, official desktop applications for Windows and macOS, and automated permission recovery in Windows Sandbox. Additionally, DeepSeek account sessions can now perform native web searches without needing an extra API key. This update strengthens the foundations required to move AI agents from experimental tools toward production-grade execution environments. By decoupling interactive prompts from blocking agent execution and adding automated sandbox error recovery, developers can run more resilient and long-running autonomous workflows. In Async Question Mode, an agent continues background execution after a question timeout rather than hard-blocking until the user responds. The new desktop client supports Windows and macOS account logins, while Linux remains unsupported in this release.

## BACKGROUND

DeepSeek Harness is an open-source agent framework developed by DeepSeek AI and built on the Cordis plugin system. Agent harnesses act as runtime environments that manage how AI agents execute code, call external tools, maintain state, and interact securely within operating system sandboxes.
