Claude Code Desktop App Integrates iOS Simulator in Public Beta
Anthropic has updated Claude Code on desktop to support the iOS simulator, allowing developers to build and run iOS applications directly next to their AI assistant. This feature is currently available in public beta. This integration streamlines the mobile development workflow by reducing context switching, enabling developers to test and debug iOS apps in real-time while interacting with the AI agent. When developers build and run their iOS apps, the simulator automatically opens in a dedicated panel adjacent to the chat interface. The feature is currently in public beta and is designed for the desktop version of Claude Code.
## BACKGROUND
Claude Code is an agentic coding tool developed by Anthropic that operates in the terminal and IDE environments to help developers edit files, run commands, and write code. The iOS simulator is a tool used by developers to prototype and test iOS apps on a Mac without needing a physical Apple device.
