Chinese AI Chipmaker Enflame Surges Over 200% in STAR Market IPO Debut
Chinese cloud AI chipmaker Enflame Technology officially debuted on Shanghai's STAR Market on September 11, with its stock surging over 200% and pushing its valuation past 177 billion RMB. The company raised 6.12 billion RMB ($860+ million) to fund the R&D and commercialization of its next-generation AI accelerators. Enflame's successful listing highlights strong domestic investor backing for China's semiconductor ecosystem amid ongoing global chip export restrictions. The capital influx will bolster China's self-reliance efforts in cloud-based AI hardware for training and inference workloads. Out of the 6.12 billion RMB raised, Enflame plans to allocate roughly 2.7 billion RMB to 5th and 6th generation AI chip series R&D, and 3.3 billion RMB to hardware-software co-innovation projects. Strategic investors and supply chain partners include major Chinese firms such as Tencent, Xiaomi, ZTE, Huahong, and TFME.
