According to reports, these groups recruit creators on crowdsourcing platforms like CrowdWorks, offering financial incentives to generate disinformation using AI tools. This campaign highlights how generative AI lowers the barrier to producing political propaganda and historical disinformation, which can mislead younger generations online. Furthermore, the Chinese government warns that such false content could pollute the training datasets of large language models, leading to distorted AI outputs. The recruitment campaigns offer 5,000 yen for a 30-second AI-generated video, with additional bonuses of 1,000 yen per 1,000 views for negative content about China. Creators are provided with guidelines and can generate these videos within minutes using simple text prompts.
