China Unicom and Meizu have launched the 'Little Magic Cube,' a compact 99-gram AI-native smartphone featuring a 4-inch square screen. Running on Yunzhi OS, the device prioritizes voice-first interaction, AI call assistance, multimodal environmental recognition, and cloud-edge synergy. This product highlights an emerging hardware trend toward ultra-lightweight, voice-centric AI devices that offload heavy computing tasks to cloud operating systems. It also demonstrates how telecommunications carriers and smartphone makers are partnering to deploy novel AI-native form factors over 5G networks. The phone reportedly uses a UNISOC T8200 processor and supports dual-identity switching between local and cloud operating environments alongside 2TB of cloud storage. Its smart calling features include real-time English-Chinese translation, automated call transcription, voice-to-text conversion, and emotional recognition.
