China's Generative AI User Base Surpasses 700 Million

According to a report by the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), China's generative AI users have exceeded 700 million, reaching a penetration rate of over 50%. The nation's intelligent computing capacity reached 2,185 EFLOPS—a 177% year-over-year increase—supported by the deployment of its first fully domestic 100,000-card AI supercluster. The data highlights China's rapid integration of artificial intelligence across consumer productivity and key industrial sectors, shifting national focus from pure technical research to practical application. The hardware milestones also demonstrate China's accelerating self-reliance in building full-stack homegrown computing infrastructure. Intelligent Q&A remains the dominant usage scenario at 76%, while usage frequency for AI productivity assistants doubled year-over-year. On the capital side, disclosed AI financing in the first half of 2026 reached 250.14 billion RMB across 1,255 deals, already surpassing 180% of the total amount raised in 2025.
