China's First 5G-A Telecom Package Launched for Embodied AI Robots
Leju Robotics, Anhui Telecom, and Huawei have jointly launched China's first 5G-A mobile package tailored for embodied AI, named "Embodied Wing-Link". The service was demonstrated in an industrial park where a fleet of Leju's "Kuafu" humanoid robots performed parallel inspection tasks. As embodied AI and humanoid robots move toward commercial scale, transmitting continuous high-definition video and sensor streams back to the cloud creates severe network bottlenecks. Dedicated 5G-A connectivity solves this uplink bottleneck, enabling real-time control and continuous cloud-based AI model retraining. The service provides peak uplink speeds of up to 500 Mbps, 20ms latency at 95% reliability, and network priority scheduling. Pricing ranges from 599 RMB/month for 200GB of uplink data (300 Mbps peak) to 999 RMB/month for 500GB of uplink data (500 Mbps peak with dynamic slicing), enabling a complete loop of operational inspection, data harvesting, and model fine-tuning.
## BACKGROUND
Embodied AI refers to artificial intelligence integrated into physical bodies, like humanoid robots, that perceive and interact with the real world. 5G-Advanced (5G-A or 5.5G) is an evolution of 5G technology that drastically improves uplink bandwidth, reduces latency, and supports dynamic network slicing to prioritize mission-critical industrial traffic.
