China's AI Development Speed and Application Scale Lead Globally
During a recent National Development and Reform Commission press conference, officials announced that China's artificial intelligence development speed and application scale are now leading globally. The country has also surpassed a key threshold where AI inference data volume has exceeded training data volume. This milestone signals that China's AI ecosystem is successfully transitioning from foundational model research and training phases into large-scale industrial deployment. The widespread adoption across industrial, agricultural, and service sectors highlights AI's growing tangible impact on the real economy. In the industrial sector, over 10,000 advanced intelligent factories have been established. Meanwhile, service sectors are increasingly utilizing AI agents to automate tasks such as contract reviews and customs declarations, creating a new 'employee plus agent' operational model.
## BACKGROUND
AI inference refers to the phase where a trained machine learning model makes predictions or processes new data in real-world scenarios, whereas training involves teaching the model using large datasets. The transition from training to inference dominance typically indicates that a technology is moving out of the laboratory and into widespread commercial deployment.
