China's 2025 Informatics Report Highlights 16.1% Growth in Service Robot Production

The Cyberspace Administration of China released the "National Informatics Development Report (2025)," revealing that China's service robot production reached 18.581 million units, a 16.1% year-on-year increase. Additionally, the core industries of the digital economy grew to account for over 10.5% of the country's GDP. This growth underscores China's rapid transition toward a digital and automated economy, driven by the integration of AI hardware like AI phones and PCs alongside advancements in industrial digitalization. It reflects a broader trend of leveraging technology to sustain economic growth and modernize public services like healthcare and social security. The report notes that key industrial digitalization metrics, such as the numerical control rate of key processes, reached 68.6%, while agricultural drone ownership exceeded 300,000 units. In the public sector, the national healthcare security platform now covers 1.33 billion people, tracking over 174 billion drug traceability codes to ensure patient safety.
