China Recognizes 11 New Occupations Including Embodied AI Technicians and AI Agent Developers
China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security officially released its 8th batch of new job classifications, introducing 11 new occupations and 23 specialized job roles. Key technical additions include Embodied AI Robotics Application Technicians, Digital Twin Engineering Technicians, and AI Agent Developers. This official recognition reflects the rapid industrialization of frontier technologies like AI agents, embodied robotics, and green energy across China's economy. By establishing standardized job titles, the government aims to accelerate vocational training, educational curriculum development, and talent development in high-tech sectors. Digital and green occupations account for 45% and 27% of the newly added titles, respectively, bringing the total number of recognized new occupations in China to 121 since 2019. Additional newly recognized specialized roles include Microgrid Administrators, Low-altitude Logistics Workers, and EV Inspection Technicians.
## BACKGROUND
Embodied AI refers to intelligent systems integrated into physical bodies (such as robots) that can interact directly with the physical world. Digital Twin technology creates real-time virtual models of physical objects using IoT sensors and AI to support simulation and decision-making, while Microgrids are localized power networks integrating renewable energy, storage, and smart grid management.
