China Adds Embodied AI and Solid-State Batteries to Quality Chain Initiative
China's State Administration for Market Regulation has announced the second phase of its "Quality Chain Strengthening" initiative. This new phase expands the national focus to include cutting-edge sectors such as embodied AI robots, solid-state power batteries, drones, and advanced synthetic biology manufacturing. This policy shift highlights China's strategic focus on establishing quality standards and strengthening supply chains for next-generation technologies. It is expected to accelerate industrial development and standardization in critical sectors like robotics, electric vehicles, and biotechnology. The second phase optimizes its layout through a "three batches" strategy: continuing existing projects in high-end instrumentation and industrial robots, expanding into new directions like solid-state batteries, and adding emerging fields like industrial machine tools.
