Chery's Moga Robot Unveils 'Mobao', Its First Consumer Humanoid
Chery's Moga Robot unveiled its first consumer-grade family companion humanoid robot named 'Mobao' at the 2026 Moga Robot Global Launch Event. Standing 0.9 meters tall, the robot features 22 degrees of freedom to support walking and physical expression. This launch marks a notable commercialization step into the consumer robotics market by a major automotive group, showcasing the ongoing trend of bringing embodied AI into household environments. It highlights how traditional industrial players are expanding their technological ecosystems into everyday family companionship. Mobao supports more than 20 languages, provides interactive features like storytelling and object Q&A, and uses a layered architecture for perception, decision-making, and long-term memory management. MogaCloud facilitates system task dispatching and OTA updates while maintaining user data security through device-side desensitization.
## BACKGROUND
Humanoid robots use degrees of freedom (DOF) to define the independent directions and angles in which their joints can move, dictating their physical agility and complexity of movement. Embodied AI combines artificial intelligence algorithms with physical robotic hardware, enabling systems to perceive, learn, and interact with the physical world in real time.
