Cadillac Debuts XT5 PHEV Featuring Momenta R7 Autonomous Driving World Model
Cadillac has debuted its new XT5 PHEV at the Chengdu Auto Show, which is scheduled to launch in early September. The vehicle will be the first production luxury hybrid SUV to feature the Momenta R7 autonomous driving world model. This integration marks a significant milestone in bringing advanced physical AI and generative world models into production hybrid vehicles. It represents a shift from traditional driver-assist systems that only recognize obstacles to systems that understand physical laws and predict complex traffic interactions. The XT5 PHEV is equipped with a 35.5kWh battery offering a CLTC pure electric range of 215km, powered by a 1.5T engine and dual motors. The integrated Momenta R7 model uses a three-layer architecture—pre-training, simulation, and reinforcement learning—to generate realistic speed adjustments and path planning.
