ByteDance Launches Seedance 2.5 Video Model for Autonomous Driving and Embodied AI
ByteDance has officially released its next-generation video generation model, Seedance 2.5, with Volcano Engine set to launch its API service for enterprise users. Companies like Xpeng, Agibot, and XCMG Group will be among the first to integrate the model into their production workflows. This release marks a shift from generating simple video clips to practical industrial applications, particularly in generating training data for embodied AI and simulating edge-case scenarios for autonomous driving. It helps companies significantly reduce the costs of physical data collection and 3D animation rendering. Seedance 2.5 extends the unified multimodal audio-video architecture of version 2.0, supporting a single generation length of 30 seconds and introducing a "white model reference" feature to render 3D layouts into realistic videos. It will be used to simulate extreme driving conditions like heavy rain, snow, and complex collision risks.
## BACKGROUND
Seedance is ByteDance's flagship AI video generation model family, designed for text-to-video, image-to-video, and multi-modal editing tasks. Embodied AI refers to artificial intelligence systems that interact physically with the real world, such as robots, which require vast amounts of visual and physical training data to predict motion trajectories and operate safely.
