ByteDance Launches AI Short Drama Incentive Program Offering Up to 200,000 RMB

ByteDance's Volcano Engine has launched an incentive program for premium AI-generated short dramas created using their Seedance tools and published on the Hongguo Short Drama app. Top-ranking projects can receive up to 200,000 RMB per title, with submissions open until January 31, 2027. This initiative represents a major commercial push by ByteDance to encourage creators to adopt its proprietary video generation and cloud infrastructure ecosystem. By combining cash prizes and platform credits, ByteDance is actively cultivating a commercial pipeline for AI-generated entertainment content. To qualify, submitted videos must use Seedance entirely, with Seedance 2.5 accounting for over 50% of the production. Rewards are distributed as 50% cash and 50% platform service vouchers, tiered according to monthly popularity rankings on the Hongguo platform.
