BYD Rollout of 'Didi Xia' AI Super Agent to Tang SUV Series
BYD has deployed its 'Didi Xia' AI super agent to the Tang flagship SUV series, introducing features such as voice-activated food ordering, hotel reservation, and multi-stop navigation planning. The system also supports custom AI personas, fuzzy vehicle voice commands, and voiceprint-authenticated user memory retention. This update highlights the evolution of automotive smart cockpits from basic voice command recognition toward fully autonomous AI agents capable of handling complex workflows. By embedding major LLMs like Qwen and Doubao alongside consumer apps, BYD connects the vehicle directly to a broad digital service ecosystem. Built on BYD's proprietary AI model architecture and AIOS platform, 'Didi Xia' aggregates third-party services including Alipay, Taobao, Amap, and multiple streaming platforms. It requires voiceprint registration to lock and edit personalized memories, ensuring user chat history and preferences remain secure.
## BACKGROUND
Modern electric vehicle manufacturers increasingly rely on smart cockpit features as a primary differentiator in the automotive market. Traditional voice assistants were mostly restricted to pre-programmed vehicle controls like turning on the air conditioning or adjusting volume. Incorporating Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI agents allows vehicles to parse natural, context-aware conversations and execute complex multi-step tasks.
