Bilibili Concludes First AI Competition, Awarding Grand Prize to ACG Companion 'Project N.E.K.O.'

Bilibili concluded its inaugural "build in bilibili" AI Creation Open Competition, awarding the 1 million RMB top prize to "Project N.E.K.O.", an ACG-themed AI companion project created by solo content creator Dr. W. The event attracted over 30,000 submissions across 13,400 creators and generated over 350 million minutes of content watch time. The contest highlights how AI application development is becoming accessible to non-traditional developers, with over 60% of participants lacking a professional coding background. It also underscores Bilibili's expanding AI ecosystem, where monthly viewers of AI-related content have exceeded 190 million. "Project N.E.K.O." is an open-source AI desktop companion featuring real-time voice interaction and persistent memory, which surpassed 100,000 registered users and engaged 18 other Bilibili creators in co-developing plugins. The competition received support from prominent industry partners, including NVIDIA, Zhipu AI, vivo, Sequoia China, and ZhenFund, who provided compute capacity, hardware, and investment resource backing.
