ASUS Establishes Physical AI Solutions Business Group to Focus on Robotics

ASUS is restructuring its AIoT division into the "Physical AI Solutions Business Group" (PAS BG) starting September 1, 2024. The new group will focus on autonomous platforms and humanoid robotics as part of the company's "All in AI" strategy. This restructuring highlights a major industry trend where hardware giants are pivoting towards embodied and physical AI to capture a market projected to reach $1.1 trillion by 2035. It marks ASUS's transition from simple device connectivity to deploying AI in the physical world. PAS BG will be co-led by Albert Chang and Jackie Hsu, and it will comprise three main units: the AI Solutions Division, the Autonomous Platform Division, and the Humanoid Robotics Division.

## BACKGROUND

Physical AI refers to artificial intelligence systems that perceive, understand, and interact with the physical world, rather than existing solely in digital or software environments. This technology is crucial for the development of humanoid robots, self-driving vehicles, and smart factories.
