Apple Explains Apple Watch's Siri Recap All-Day Conversation AI Summaries
Apple detailed the "Siri Recap" feature for Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, which silently records daily conversations in the background to generate concise AI summaries powered by Apple Intelligence. Users must opt in to use the feature, and unstored summaries are automatically deleted after seven days. This feature demonstrates how wearable technology can offer continuous audio note-taking while implementing privacy-first architecture. By isolating audio in hardware and withholding transcriptions and speaker labels, Apple aims to deliver ambient AI capabilities without sacrificing personal privacy. ## BACKGROUND
Apple's Secure Exclave architecture provides dedicated software and hardware isolation domains to process sensitive sensor data outside the main system kernel.
