AntLing Open-Sources Ming-Image-0.1-Design 6B Image Models for UI/UX
AntLing (inclusionAI) has open-sourced the Ming-Image-0.1-Design model family, a collection of 6-billion parameter open-weight image models specialized for UI/UX design, infographics, and text-rich visual design. The release includes the standard 6B design model, a layer-separated variant (Ming-Image-0.1-Design-Layer), and two agent skills for UI design and image-to-editable-presentation workflows. Rendering legible text and structured layout components within AI-generated images has historically been a major hurdle for general-purpose text-to-image models. By open-sourcing top-ranked specialized models for UI/UX design, AntLing enables developers and designers to automate slide creation and digital asset workflows without relying on commercial closed-source APIs. The Ming-Image-0.1-Design model supports RGBA output with transparent backgrounds, allowing design components to be easily layered into graphic software. The model currently holds a leading rank among open-weight models on Artificial Analysis's UI/UX design benchmark category.
## BACKGROUND
Standard text-to-image models usually focus on photorealism or artistic styles, frequently producing garbled text or uneditable raster output. Domain-specific design models target these gaps by learning typographic layouts, UI components, and multi-layer graphics to generate functional visual design elements.
