Ant Group Releases Lingguang 2.0 AI Assistant with Proactive Task Management
Ant Group has released Lingguang 2.0, upgrading its AI assistant from a passive tool into an active manager capable of cross-session memory and long-term task execution. Powered by independent cloud hosting, the system can run tasks even after users exit the dialogue and proactively monitor daily needs. This release represents a significant shift in AI assistants from one-off command executors to persistent agents that handle continuous, multi-step workflows across personal and professional domains. By shifting the intervention point forward, it enables AI to actively discover user needs and manage long-term affairs like billing, travel, and family coordination. Lingguang 2.0 integrates with ecosystems like Alipay, DingTalk, Feishu, and Xiaomi Home while supporting MCP and CLI tools. It is backed by Ant APASS for identity authentication, intent safety, and separated authorization key hosting to ensure privacy and secure execution.
## BACKGROUND
AI agents are autonomous software entities designed to perceive their environment, make decisions, and execute multi-step workflows using tools to achieve specific goals. Cross-session memory and long-term task scheduling allow these agents to retain context across multiple interactions and operate independently over extended periods without constant human prompts.
