AMD, Cisco, and HUMAIN Partner to Deploy AI Infrastructure in Saudi Arabia
AMD, Cisco, and Saudi AI firm HUMAIN have launched an AI computing infrastructure in Saudi Arabia powered by AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs, EPYC CPUs, and Cisco Silicon One networking. The partnership also plans to deploy a 250MW infrastructure using future AMD Instinct MI400 GPUs starting in 2027. This partnership marks a significant expansion of AMD's AI hardware footprint in the Middle East, challenging NVIDIA's dominance in the region's rapidly growing AI market. It also showcases Cisco's Silicon One architecture as a key networking backbone for large-scale AI workloads. The current deployment utilizes Cisco N9000 series switches with 800G optical systems to achieve low-latency, high-resiliency interconnects. Additionally, HUMAIN has launched an "AI in a Box" turnkey solution for entry-level AI applications based on this infrastructure.
## BACKGROUND
Cisco Silicon One is a unified, programmable networking silicon architecture designed to simplify routing and switching operations while reducing energy demands. AMD ROCm is an open-source software stack that provides drivers, compilers, and APIs to optimize AI and high-performance computing workloads on AMD GPUs.
