Amap Releases ABot-Earth 0.7: A 3D-Native Urban World Model

Alibaba's Amap has officially released ABot-Earth 0.7, a 3D-native urban world model capable of generating interactive 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) environments across more than 196 countries and regions. From a single satellite image or text prompt, the model can synthesize multi-scale 3D cityscapes ranging from planet-wide views down to detailed street-level landmarks. This development marks a shift from traditional static, 2D-stitched digital mapping to dynamic AI-generated spatial intelligence for digital twins. By significantly reducing generation time and hardware requirements, it enables real-time, continuous exploration of real-world environments for spatial computing and navigation applications. ABot-Earth 0.7 generates kilometer-scale 3D city scenes end-to-end in just 10 minutes on a single consumer-grade GPU, representing a claimed 1,000-fold speedup over traditional reconstruction methods. It maintains consistent 3D visual fidelity and geometry across seamlessly zooming scales, and is already integrated into Amap's Flying Street View 2.0 feature.

## BACKGROUND

Traditional digital Earth models rely on stitching aerial photos and point-cloud data onto 2D surfaces, which limits camera viewpoints and interaction. 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) is a modern volume rendering technique that represents 3D scenes using millions of semi-transparent ellipsoids, enabling photorealistic, real-time rendering from arbitrary viewpoints.
