Alipay Unveils AI Wallet Agent and APASS Trust Infrastructure for Autonomous Payments
At the Inclusion Conference on the Bund, Alipay announced plans to launch an AI Wallet Agent alongside APASS, a commercial trust infrastructure developed by Ant Group to secure automated AI transactions. Alipay also introduced code-free AI payment collection tools for developers and consumer features like automated recurring purchases and booking assistance. As autonomous AI agents increasingly execute financial decisions, transitioning from basic payment capabilities to trusted, verifiable transactions is critical for risk management. By combining Ant International's network with protocols like AMP and ACT, Alipay enables developers to monetize AI capabilities across more than 200 countries and regions through a single integration. The APASS trust architecture implements a Know Your Agent (KYA) framework that verifies AI agent identity, intent, authorization, and behavior throughout the transaction lifecycle. Additionally, Alipay's "AI Collect" suite introduces Vibe Pay, Skill Pay, and Machine Pay to support digital skill monetization and machine-to-machine automated payments.
## BACKGROUND
Traditional financial services rely on Know Your Customer (KYC) rules to establish trust and verify human identities before processing transactions. As autonomous AI agents emerge to act on behalf of users, frameworks like KYA and dedicated protocols like the Agentic Mobile Protocol (AMP) provide standardized verification mechanisms to ensure AI-driven payments are authorized and auditable.
