Alibaba T-Head Unveils Server CPU Roadmap Featuring Yitian 720, 730, and 750

Alibaba's semiconductor division, T-Head, announced its server CPU roadmap through 2027, introducing the Yitian 720, 730, and 750 processor families. The Yitian 730 will mark the debut of T-Head's fully self-developed CPU microarchitecture, delivering up to a 1.4x boost in SPECint2017/GHz performance over the Yitian 710. This roadmap highlights China's drive toward domestic semiconductor independence by transitioning from standard licensed CPU cores to fully proprietary microarchitectures and interconnect protocols. Tightly linking custom CPUs directly with proprietary AI accelerators will allow Alibaba to maximize compute efficiency across its cloud and AI infrastructure. Planned for release around Q3 2027, the Yitian 750 will introduce a second-generation custom core supporting T-Head's proprietary ICN interconnect bus protocol. This allows direct CPU-to-AI interconnect with Zhenwu chips, building upon T-Head's full-stack hardware ecosystem that includes ICN switches, SmartNICs, and storage controllers.
