Alibaba's Qwen App Introduces Paid Subscriptions for Office Assistant and AI Video Generation
Alibaba's Qwen App has launched paid subscription plans for professional users, featuring tiered pricing for its office assistant and separate pay-per-quota packages for AI video generation. The office assistant subscriptions range from 19 to 128 RMB per month, while the video generation packages offer quotas valid for three months. This move highlights the accelerating monetization trend in the consumer large language model (LLM) market, as AI providers transition from offering free services to tiered subscription models for resource-intensive features. It also demonstrates how companies are commercializing advanced capabilities like AI video generation and specialized office assistants. The office assistant subscription offers three tiers (Advanced, Elite, and Flagship) that increase usage quotas by 2x, 5x, and 20x respectively, while free access remains available for standard users. Additionally, the Qwen App now supports Alibaba's latest flagship model, Qwen3.8-MAX, which powers these advanced office assistant features.
