Alibaba Launches Qwen-Image-2.1 Pro and Turbo APIs on Qwen AI Platform

Alibaba's Qwen AI platform has officially launched the Qwen-Image-2.1 Pro and Turbo APIs while concurrently open-sourcing the Qwen-Image-2.1-Turbo model weights. This release allows developers to seamlessly integrate advanced image generation and editing capabilities into applications without managing underlying inference infrastructure. This release simplifies the integration of powerful visual AI workflows for sectors such as e-commerce, design, and content creation, lowering the barrier for developers to build production-ready applications. By offering both API access and open-source model weights, it caters to diverse deployment and customization needs. The Qwen-Image-2.1 model supports up to 10 reference images and features precise regional editing through multi-modal prompts, while the 7B-parameter Turbo variant shortens the generation and editing denoising process to just 8 steps while supporting 2K resolution.
